The town of Benigànim hosted the 47th Vall d’Albaida Dance Gathering last Saturday, a well-established event that keeps the region's folkloric traditions alive. The Agullent Dance and Culture Group was among the notable participants in this festive occasion.
The event was attended by Agullent's Councilor for Culture and Tourism, Maria Herrero, representing the local council. Since its inception in the late seventies, the Gathering has become a crucial space for preserving Valencian dances, music, and cultural roots.
Various municipalities from the Vall d’Albaida region sent their dance groups, who offered performances and parades filled with music and color through the streets of Benigànim. A highlight was the final collective performance, which included the dance of Benigànim and united all participants in a communal 'dansà'.
Each edition of the Gathering underscores not only the cultural diversity of the Vall d’Albaida but also the importance of cooperation among towns to safeguard and pass down cultural heritage to future generations.
