It is essential never to look directly at the Sun without approved protection. Only certified eclipse glasses under the standard «EN ISO 12312-2:2015» with CE marking should be used, if purchased within the EU. These glasses must cover the entire field of vision and be in good condition.
Even with approved glasses, it is not recommended to look at the Sun for more than one minute at a time. Other methods such as regular sunglasses, smoked glasses, welder's goggles, or uncertified filters for binoculars and telescopes are not safe and are strongly discouraged.
For those planning to travel to view the eclipse, the importance of planning and anticipating the trip in advance is reminded. Additionally, it is essential to protect yourself from the heat and stay hydrated, carrying water, a hat, and sunscreen.
