The Local Government Board of Gandia yesterday approved a series of measures to strengthen support for vulnerable groups, promote inclusion and employment, improve integration between the port and the city, and modernize municipal infrastructure.
A new edition of the School Cultural Voucher was approved, with a budget of 200,000 euros, to support families and promote access for students in Primary, ESO, and Special Education enrolled in Gandia to cultural and educational resources.
In the social sphere, two collaboration agreements were greenlit to grant nominative subsidies totaling 64,990 euros. Firstly, 60,000 euros will be allocated to the Spanish Red Cross for its Social Emergency Plan during 2026, funding aid for accommodation, maintenance, emergency housing, and the hiring of technical staff.
Additionally, a subsidy of 4,990 euros was approved for the Club Atletisme Safor, intended to cover operational expenses and activities, with a special focus on initiatives promoting women's sports.
Regarding employment, the project “NeXos+: Alliances for territorial inclusion and employment” will be submitted for the state call for the Agenda 2030, requesting 250,000 euros in aid. This initiative, a continuation of the NeXos program, aims to improve the employability of vulnerable individuals through comprehensive itineraries, training, guidance, and support, including a Welcome School for migrants and a specific pathway for people with disabilities.
In Port-City integration, an addendum to the agreement with the Port Authority of Valencia has been approved to adapt the accord to the new Delimitation of Port Spaces and Uses (DEUP) and expand the scope to the area of the fruit warehouses. This action will improve the connection with the Venècia neighborhood and is planned for the last quarter of 2026.
Finally, the award of the urban vertical signage supply contract to the company SEROVIAL, S.L. was noted, with a budget of 746,516.52 euros. The project includes the renewal of signs, posts, and panels to enhance road safety, with improvements such as a digital tool for georeferenced management and 24-hour incident response.
