Cullera's Cap Blanc beach will be featured on an ONCE lottery ticket next Thursday, September 17th, as part of the 'Beaches with a flag' series. This initiative highlights coastlines recognized with the Blue Flag award, allowing the city's image to reach every corner of Spain through five million copies.
The mayor of Cullera, Jordi Mayor, along with the ONCE delegate for the Valencian Community, José Manuel Pichel, presented the ticket by the sea on the beach itself. Mayor expressed pride in this selection, noting the historic record of 10 Blue Flags this year and the efforts made to improve the coastline, establishing it as a benchmark for quality, accessibility, safety, and sustainability.
ONCE chose Cullera and Cap Blanc Beach for its accessibility, recognizing the municipality's commitment to an inclusive environment. Cullera currently has four accessible beaches and is working on a comprehensive cognitive accessibility project for all its resources and services.
Cap Blanc beach, measuring 630 meters long and 65 meters wide, is one of the most representative areas of Cullera's coastline. It is among the ten beaches in the municipality awarded the Blue Flag and is noted for its natural conditions and opportunities for water sports.
In addition to Cap Blanc, other Blue Flag beaches in Cullera include Dosser, el Racó, el Far, Les Oliveres, l'Escullera, Marenyet-l’Illa, el Brosquil, and Sant Antoni. The latter is celebrating 40 consecutive years with the award, granted by the Association of Environmental Education and Consumerism (ADEAC), which assesses water and sand quality, services, environmental management, and aspects like lifeguard services, accessibility, and coastal protection.
