The Municipal Operational Coordination Center (Cecopal) held an urgent meeting following the alert predicting accumulations of up to 40 liters per square meter in one hour in the capital of La Plana. The alert will be active from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM this Monday.
As a preventive measure, the paelleros (barbecue areas) in El Pinar have been closed due to high fire risk, and the meteorological situation will be closely monitored in case it becomes necessary to close this green lung completely. Furthermore, the setup of stages for the solar eclipse has been halted and will resume tomorrow when the Orange Alert is no longer in effect.
The Cecopal will remain active until August 12, the day of the eclipse. Continuous checks are being made on the drainage systems to ensure proper water evacuation. Residents are advised to stay informed through official channels.
