The works, promoted by the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Sport through the General Directorate of Culture and Heritage, have an allocated budget of 1,662,300.94 euros. The intervention, corresponding to phase 3 of the monument's Master Plan, will focus on the restoration and consolidation of the tower's historical structures. Intermediate floors will also be incorporated, and the volumetric reintegration of elements showing advanced deterioration and risk of collapse will be carried out.
The project also includes the creation of a metal access platform, as well as the protection and restoration of the mural paintings located on the south wall. Furthermore, various preventive measures will be implemented to avoid detachments and ensure the overall stability of the historic building.
The Monestir de la Murta, declared a Site of Cultural Interest (BIC) since 1998, is situated within the Municipal Natural Area of La Murta and La Casella. Due to its strategic location, the municipal license has been processed in coordination with the relevant administrations. The favorable report from the Confederation Hydrographical of the Júcar was essential, as the site is within the affected area of the Murta ravine. Authorization for the temporary use of the Vereda dels Frares drover's road as an access route for the works has also been required.

With the granting of this license, the Ministry now has the green light to begin the works, which must be completed within a maximum period of eighteen months. This action represents a new phase in the recovery of a monumental complex, the Monestir de la Murta, which is an intrinsic part of Alzira's historical identity and one of the main attractions of its natural surroundings.
