Benifaió commemorated this October 9th with an homage to the 'reial senyera', in official events attended by numerous residents and the municipal corporation.

The October 9th festivity was celebrated in Benifaió with an act of homage to the 'reial senyera'. A large number of residents witnessed the events organized by the Benifaió City Council.
Around 11:00 AM, the 'reial senyera' descended from the council's balcony to be received by the standard-bearer, a distinction this year held by socialist councilor Andrés Blázquez Gallego. To the strains of the Valencian Community anthem, performed by the Musical Artistic Society of Benifaió, the senyera reached the standard-bearer, accompanied by 21 gun salutes, before proceeding to the parish church.
There, a 'Te Deum' led by the Cor Madrigal Benifaió paid honors to the flag. Following the religious ceremony, the civic procession took place, presided over by the municipal corporation and the new parish priest Javier Camañes, with Mayor Marta Ortiz at the forefront, alongside the first deputy mayor Xavier Martínez, the Justice of the Peace, the Head of the Local Police, and the Lieutenant of the Civil Guard.
The procession, joined by numerous residents, carried the senyera to the intersection of Caballeros and la Cruz streets, where a small monolith marks the spot where King James I passed during his conquest of Valencia. At this point, Mayor Marta Ortiz and first deputy mayor Xavier Martínez laid a laurel wreath as a sign of respect and homage to the monarch.
During the procession, residents enjoyed Valencian dances performed by the group 'Benifaió en dansa' and the music of the tabal and dolçaina. Subsequently, the senyera was solemnly raised to the council's balcony to the strains of the Valencian Community anthem and 21 gun salutes.
