Residents registered in Utiel, aged 16 and over, can now exercise their voting rights for the 2026-2027 Participatory Budgets. This democratic process allows participants to select up to three preferred proposals within two key thematic areas: tourism and road safety/accessibility.
In the road safety and accessibility domain, twenty-six projects are on offer. Options include improvements such as expanding pedestrian crossings, repairing deteriorated sidewalks, removing accessibility barriers at the Health Center, and creating accessible parking spaces. Technical studies are also proposed, including traffic light assessments, implementing one-way streets, and regulating personal mobility devices.
Meanwhile, proposals focused on tourism total twenty-three initiatives aimed at enhancing the historical and cultural appeal of the municipality. These include heritage-focused projects like the rehabilitation of the old washhouse, modernization of the Bodega Redona, and the opening of new underground wineries. Cycling routes, service areas for motorhomes, connections to the Camino de Santiago, and improved climate control in municipal buildings are also up for a vote.
Voting can be done both online and in person. To facilitate participation, a voting booth will be set up in the Town Hall square on Tuesday, September 29th, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
This open government initiative is supported by the Conselleria de Justicia, Transparencia y Participación of the Generalitat Valenciana and the Provincial Council of Valencia, with a grant of 6,000 euros.
