The Vila-real City Council has completed the renewal of eleven waste bins in five dog parks across the city, an intervention aimed at improving the maintenance of these municipal facilities and addressing identified needs.

The work focused on replacing the most worn-out elements and expanding waste collection points in areas where higher demand was observed. Improvements were carried out in the dog parks of La Maiorasga, El Pilar, Portugal Avenue, the Melilla neighborhood, and El Pou.
During a visit to the northern area, municipal officials spoke with users, who positively assessed the condition of the facilities. However, they also took the opportunity to propose new improvements, such as installing more benches and repairing the perimeter fencing to ensure animal safety.
Local authorities noted that with nearly 13,000 registered pets, it is essential to continue adapting public spaces. Future actions will be planned taking into account owner feedback, strengthening coordination between the Public Services and Animal Welfare departments.
Finally, the obligation to collect pet waste was reiterated. The Citizen Coexistence Ordinance and the Law 2/2023 on Animal Welfare of the Comunitat Valenciana establish sanctions for owners who do not comply with this responsibility, emphasizing that public cleanliness depends on civic behavior.
