The hotel association Aete has reported that the sixth month of the year registered an occupancy rate of 91.2% in associated hotels in Elche. This figure represents the highest value of the year and exceeds by 1.4 percentage points the rate recorded in June of the previous year, also being the highest for this month in the historical series.
The average price per room stood at 97.48 euros, an increase of 4.84 euros compared to last year. This price rise helps tourism companies cope with the sector's rising costs. Weekends saw occupancy rates above 95%, boosted by favorable weather conditions.
The main motivation for travelers was vacation (55.6%), followed by business travelers (44.4%). Demand primarily comes from Spain (57.9%), while 42.1% are international. Among the latter, those from the United Kingdom (22.3%), France (17.5%), and Italy (10.2%) were the most numerous.
In the tourism context, Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández airport handled 2,123,528 passengers in June, a 10.5% increase year-on-year, surpassing 10 million accumulated passengers in 2026.
Forecasts for July are positive, with stable occupancy and prices. However, international uncertainties could affect the summer campaign.
