Residents of several municipalities in the province of Castellón, including Fuentes de Ayódar, Ayódar, Torralba del Pinar, Villamalur, Azuébar, and Almedíjar, received the news on Thursday morning that they could return home. A day earlier, residents of La Vilavella were also able to set foot in their municipality again.
The return, however, is not always easy. Residents are encountering landscapes tinged black, crops completely devastated by the flames, and damaged infrastructure. Furthermore, a smell of ash permeates the air, making it difficult to forget the inferno that has not yet ended.
