The festive day in the Ondense district of Artesa was marked by concern following two notable events. The first was a significant goring during the afternoon bullfighting festivities, when a young bullfighter suffered three wounds to his chest, neck, and leg. According to local police sources cited by Periódico Mediterráneo, the injured man was urgently transferred to the Hospital de la Plana due to the severity of his injuries.
While concern for the injured young man persisted, around 8:00 PM, mobile phones began receiving an ES-Alert notification related to the advance of a forest fire. This alert prompted authorities and event organizers to decide to suspend all planned activities in Artesa.
The alert message informed of the evacuation of several municipalities, including Alcudia de Veo, Tales, Alfondeguilla, Aín, and the district of Artesa itself. The evacuation of various urbanizations located next to the CV-230 road towards Onda was also indicated.
The combination of these two events, the bullfighting goring and the forest fire emergency, transformed the festive night into a period of maximum tension for the residents of Artesa.
