Throughout Monday, the firefighting operation faced challenges due to a thermal inversion that trapped smoke in the area, grounding aerial units during the morning. However, this afternoon, a window of opportunity allowed the 25 aerial assets assigned to the service to resume operations against the flames.
The operational director of the PMA confirmed that ground efforts have been reinforced at critical points in Betxí, Tales, and Aín. The absolute priority of the operation remains the protection of the public and nearby urban centers.
Regarding safety measures, confinement and evacuation orders remain in effect until midnight. Authorities are evaluating the fire's progress to determine if some residents may be allowed to return on Tuesday.
