The Burriana City Council will bring the 2026 Misericordia Festivals to a close on Sunday, September 13th, with «Burriana. Our history, our essence», a large-format stage production.

The event, directed by renowned guitarist and composer Pedro Navarro, promises to be a collective celebration of Burriana's memory, talent, and identity. The artistic proposal integrates diverse languages such as symphonic music, guitar, flamenco, dance, visuals, and equestrian numbers, all woven into a contemporary and visually striking narrative.
Live music will be a fundamental pillar, featuring the Orquesta Sinfónica de la Filharmònica de Burriana. Additionally, dance students from the Centre Municipal de les Arts Rafel Martí de Viciana, under the direction of Ana Llopis, will contribute choreographic sequences designed exclusively for the show, creating narrative continuity and a full theatrical dimension.
Flamenco will have a prominent space with a performance dedicated to Juan Varea, a key figure in Burriana's cultural history. The show will also include tributes to Cardinal Vicente Enrique y Tarancón and pyrotechnician Reyes Martí, as well as references to the musical legacy of Francisco Tárrega. The aim is to tell a story connecting the city's past and present through music, movement, and imagery.
Equestrian acts will be integrated into the overall narrative, bringing strength and elegance to solemn moments, without losing the main focus: Burriana, its people, its culture, and its collective memory.
A significant part of the production will be the audiovisual setup, with a live broadcast on two giant screens. The lighting, sound, and image design aim to transform the space and immerse the audience.

"We want to bid farewell to the Misericordia in an unforgettable way, with a tailor-made production that highlights everything that defines us and makes us proud."
