The Universitat Jaume I has welcomed representatives from the Generalitat Valenciana to showcase its work in knowledge transfer and innovation towards the business sector, with a focus on projects in green hydrogen, water treatment, extended reality, and nanotechnology.

Eduardo Pascual, regional secretary for Innovation, and Rafael Sebastián, director general for Science and Research, visited the facilities of Espaitec 2, the science and technology park of the UJI. The Vice-Rector for Innovation, Transfer, and Territory, Marisa Flor, and the Vice-Rector for Research, Azucena García, highlighted the regional government's commitment to bridging university research with businesses.
Pascual and Sebastián emphasized the significance of the transfer projects developed at the UJI and its potential as a generator of talent and knowledge for the productive sector.
Juan Antonio Bertolín, director of Espaitec, underscored the park's role as a connector between the university and companies. He acknowledged the Generalitat's support for initiatives such as the Innotransfer forum, the entrepreneurship programs UJIStartup and UJISpinoff, the Technological Map of Castellón, Espaitec's FabLab, and the Technological Demonstrators Program.
The visit included the presentation of several demonstrators and Business Innovation Scientific Units (UCIE). At the Research Centre for Underwater Robotics and Technology (CIRTESU), Sergio Chiva (Multiphase Fluids Research Group) and Javier Climent (FACSA) showcased an agitation system for testing water treatment propulsion equipment at real scale.
From the Institute of Advanced Materials (INAM), Fran Fabregat and Ángel Torres (Abervian) presented a green hydrogen demonstrator, validating renewable energy storage solutions by converting solar electricity into hydrogen and back.
The director of the Institute of New Imaging Technologies (INIT), Raúl Montoliu, along with researcher Inma Remolar, shared projects on extended reality and simulators for training maintenance staff at Castellón Airport.
Finally, Gladys Mínguez (Optics Research Group - GROC) presented the Nanogroc project, focused on the laser-based fabrication of high-purity nanoparticles. These nanoparticles are crucial for developing thermal nanofluids that enhance heat dissipation in energy and additive manufacturing applications.
