The City Council of Castellón has held the presentation of the official adornments that will be worn by the city's main festival representatives, María Collados and Nayra Luque. These jewels, municipal property, are presented as part of a tradition passed down from one queen to her successor, symbolizing a gift from the entire city.
Mayor Begoña Carrasco expressed her excitement for this event, which precedes the emotional band imposition ceremonies scheduled for next weekend at the Teatre Principal de Castelló.
The 'castellonera' style adornments are handcrafted in gold-plated silver, including a comb with green stones, four pins for the hair bun, the jewel holding the mantilla, the back pin, a cross, a safety chain, and leaf-shaped earrings.
Additionally, the queens received 'labradora' style adornments, part of the 18th-century attire. These pieces are made of sterling silver and hand-cut recycled glass, featuring a comb with the city's coat of arms.
