The 4th pest control campaign has commenced in L'Alfàs del Pi and will continue until November 12. Fumigation work is being carried out throughout the entire sanitation network, affecting both the urban center and several developments, as reported by the Councilor for Urban Planning and Government Spokesperson, Toni Such.
This initiative, part of the annually scheduled pest control program, is executed by qualified personnel from the concessionary company, Veolia. The objective is to maintain the public sewer system's sanitary condition, thereby addressing a citizen demand for ensuring public health and safety.
Following the third campaign, conducted between July 15 and August 10, the current efforts focus on the urban area and developments such as Tossal Riera, Pla de la Serra, Escandinavia, Jardín de Alfaz, Foia Blanca, San Rafael, Cautivador, and Belmonte Oasis. Councilor Toni Such emphasized the necessity of these operations, which occur around the same dates each year and are sometimes adjusted based on weather conditions.
During the treatment days, an increased presence of insects may be observed in public areas as a result of the elimination efforts. The council advises residents to take appropriate precautions for their indoor spaces, including homes and commercial premises.
The councilor urged citizens to adopt measures to minimize insect proliferation, such as refraining from discarding waste on the ground, making proper use of bins and containers, and disposing of trash in sealed bags within the designated containers.
