The Councilor for Cooperation and Volunteering, Isabel Muñoz, announced this initiative during the ordinary session of the General Assembly of the Local Council, held at the Casa de Cultura. The gala aims to publicly acknowledge the work carried out by the municipality's associations and groups, as well as the commitment of individuals who dedicate their time to helping others and improving community well-being.
This initiative is part of the municipal commitment to strengthen the associative fabric and raise awareness of an active and committed solidarity network, which plays a fundamental role in the social life of L'Alfàs del Pi.
The Municipal Council for Cooperation and Volunteering, a consultative and social participation body, meets semi-annually to address issues such as international cooperation, awareness-raising, development education, humanitarian aid, and volunteering. Its main functions include fostering information exchange, mutual understanding, and coordination of initiatives among the integrated associations and non-governmental organizations.
Various municipal departments are represented on the Council, including Presidency, Citizen Participation, Equality and Diversity, International Area Residents, Health and Social Welfare, as well as political groups with municipal representation and around fifteen diverse local associations. Through this participation space, the Town Hall seeks to consolidate a stable and cohesive network, promoting a participatory and quality municipal policy for development cooperation.
The first Volunteer Gala will serve as further recognition of the work done by these entities and the volunteers, whose involvement is essential for maintaining solidarity and strengthening citizen participation in L'Alfàs del Pi.
