The Villajoyosa City Council has completed the comprehensive renovation of the two courts at the La Torreta sports center, improving pavement and sports protections with an investment of 48,400 euros.

The work has allowed for the improvement of the concrete pavement, which showed evident wear, as well as the sports practice protections. Mayor Marcos Zaragoza signed the acceptance certificate for the work along with the Councilor for Sports, Peyo Lloret, and representatives of the awarded company, Asfaltos y Construcciones Aitana SL.
According to Mayor Marcos Zaragoza, the intervention was carried out on both the indoor and outdoor courts, where the concrete pavement, deteriorated by continuous use and weather conditions, has been renewed. Now, local clubs and users can practice sports in the best conditions.
The Councilor for Sports highlighted that the facility has a large number of users throughout the year. The court improvements were completed in one month and are now available to start the sports season. The renovated pavement features a high-quality multi-layer system, including sealing, regularization, and finishing layers, as well as the painting of game lines adapted to the regulations of each discipline (futsal/handball or minibasket).
On the indoor court, additional protections have been installed on the structures to prevent any risk of accidental impact or contact by athletes.
