Benidorm has solidified its position as the main tourism driver, reaching 92.1% occupancy in the second half of July, surpassing last year's 89.5%. The city anticipates 88.4% occupancy for the first half of August.
All destinations in the Valencian Community have improved their figures. The province of Valencia led with 91.1%, closely followed by the city of València (89.6%). Other areas like Alicante Sur (90%) and the Costa Blanca (87.7%) also show positive trends. The province of Castellón registered 85.6%, with expectations of improvement for August.
Domestic tourism continues to be the main source, accounting for 47.9% of stays. The British market ranks second with 23.7% of demand. However, in Benidorm, the United Kingdom leads with 37.1%, surpassing domestic tourism (35.9%).
Reservations for the first half of August average 86% across the Valencian Community. The total solar eclipse scheduled for August 12th could boost visitor numbers to areas like the province of Castellón, where technical full capacity (over 93%) is expected.
