The Villajoyosa City Council continues its Neighborhood Ombudsman campaign throughout 2026. This Thursday, councilor Marisa Mingot, ombudsman for the Río-Ciudad area, met with residents of the neighborhood on Pianista Gonzalo Soriano avenue. The councilor collected the requests and suggestions made by residents regarding municipal services.
The meeting, which allowed for direct and personalized attention to citizens, will conclude with a subsequent analysis by the government team to include the proposals in concrete actions or provide solutions as soon as possible. Marisa Mingot emphasized the importance of "carefully" analyzing the requests by the municipal departments.
During the session, available direct communication channels with the City Council were presented, such as "El Pregoner", a dissemination channel on Whatsapp and Telegram that offers updated information daily in three languages, including English for foreign residents. Information was also provided about the "Vilajoiosa" app, which allows reporting incidents and accessing municipal information.
Attendees were also able to complete an online municipal survey "in situ", accessible from the City Council's website, to provide opinions on the management and satisfaction of the services offered. This survey is also available through the digital channels "El Pregoner" and the "VilaJoiosa" app.
The Neighborhood Ombudsman initiative was launched in 2023 with the aim of providing more personalized attention. The municipality was divided into nine areas, and each ombudsman is responsible for supervising public services and addressing the neighborhood needs of their assigned zone. These meetings are held periodically.
The distribution of ombudsmen includes councilor Peyo Lloret (AP-7 area to Orxeta and Finestrat road to El Campello, including the reservoir), Carlos Soler (La Ermita and AP-7 to N-332 area, between Finestrat and El Campello), Pedro Ramis (Pelayo street to El Campello, Xarco, Montíboli, Paradís, Poble Nou, N-332a to the beachfront), Paco Pérez (N-332 to Los Estudiantes beach, Mediterráneo avenue to the Torres river), and Jaime Santamaría (Torres river to La Cala, Talaies, N-332 to the beachfront in this area).
Councilor Marisa Mingot oversees the area between Pianista Lozano avenue and the Cemetery road, and up to the Finestrat road, from the N-332 to País Valencià avenue. Councilor Ana Alcázar is responsible for the area between Varadero avenue, N-332, and the Port road. Maite Sánchez is the ombudsman for the urban center, Pati Fosc, Horta, La Torreta, and the Mitjanet district. Finally, Rosa Llorca is the ombudsman for the historic center and the Central beach, from Pelayo street to Varadero avenue and up to the N-332a.
