A hiker had to be rescued this midday on the Montgó mountain after feeling unwell while climbing the Xàbia slope during a day of high temperatures.

The hiker, who showed symptoms compatible with heatstroke, such as exhaustion and tingling in the legs, requested assistance. The rescue operation was activated immediately to attend to the affected person in the mountain area.
The operation involved members of the Alicante Fire Consortium Rescue Group and the Xàbia Local Police. The rescuers reached the hiker to hydrate him and proceed with his evacuation by helicopter to the Dénia fire station.
Once on the ground, a Basic Life Support (SVB) ambulance took charge of transporting the young man to the Dénia hospital to receive the necessary medical attention.
