The celebration of the Spanish national team's victory left a negative image in the sports area. Numerous bottles, bags, and containers were found on the artificial turf, along with material damage to one of the stadium benches.
The head of the Sports department denounced the situation on social media, where he shared photographs of the facility's state. The municipal representative recalled that, to avoid this situation, more than 50 bins had been distributed throughout the venue.
“"With all due respect: this is not sport. Sport should foster values such as coexistence, respect, tolerance, and resilience."
The councilor stressed that his reflection does not question the choice of the venue for the event, but the lack of civic behavior shown by the attendees. He also thanked the work of the Dénia Local Police, Civil Protection, and the department's staff, who managed to clean and condition the field in record time.
