A car traveling on the AP-7 highway in the direction of Valencia caught fire completely in the section crossing the municipality of El Verger, near the Segària mountain (km 602 of the highway). The driver managed to stop the vehicle on the shoulder and exit quickly, remaining unharmed. The fire, which started in the car's undercarriage, affected the surrounding vegetation.
Firefighters from the Alicante Consortium, with three crews from the Dénia station, received the alert at 11:27 AM and quickly extinguished the flames, preventing them from spreading. They returned to the station at 12:50 PM.
The incident recalls another fire that occurred a few weeks ago at a car scrapyard very close to this location, which was also rapidly brought under control.
