This new resource, which joins the Community Action Service, aims primarily to develop awareness programs and promote healthy lifestyles among citizens. The unit will work in various areas to adapt its actions to the specific needs of each group.
In the educational environment, the UPCA will offer support to schools and launch preventive programs for students. Likewise, in the family sphere, guidance and training will be provided to strengthen protective factors, while in the environmental sphere, the focus will be on fostering healthier surroundings.
The service carries out both universal prevention, aimed at the entire population, and selective and indicated actions for people with greater vulnerability or those already showing risk behaviors. To achieve its goals, the unit collaborates with other municipal departments, social entities, and health services in the territory.
