An extraordinary double hatching of sea turtles (Caretta caretta) on Dénia's beaches has welcomed 128 new hatchlings over the weekend.

An exceptional weekend for Dénia's marine biodiversity. On Friday afternoon, the first of four nests at the "Turtle Camp" hatched, resulting in 48 hatchlings bustling in the sand.
On Saturday night, a second, unexpected hatching occurred. This was from a fifth nest, previously undiscovered, from which 80 sea turtles emerged. These Caretta caretta turtles began their journey towards the sea.

"Seeing the little turtles flap their flippers and take hesitant "steps" towards the sea is a marvel. The prodigy of life."
