The majority of this increase, 6,326,554.64 euros, will go towards the construction of the new CEIP Gregori Mayans i Císcar in Xirivella. With this additional funding, the total investment for this center reaches 13,378,746.22 euros. The Xirivella City Council had formally requested this increase to cover current construction costs and new technical needs for the project, which involves demolishing the existing building and constructing a new facility of nearly 6,000 square meters. The new school will include measures to prevent flood risks, such as raising the ground floor and creating safe elevated spaces.
Meanwhile, the CEIP El Cid in Mislata will receive an additional 314,623.86 euros, bringing the total investment to 3,134,219.36 euros. The planned works at this center include accessibility improvements, installation of a new elevator, renovation of interior carpentry, bathroom refurbishment, and painting work.
Both interventions are part of a broader modification affecting five delegations of competencies within Plan Edificant. The Generalitat will contribute a total of 8,803,861.84 euros in additional funding for these five projects, bringing the overall financing to 38,846,737.54 euros. The Ministry had already given its technical approval to the Xirivella project, a step welcomed by the educational community. While construction is underway, students from CEIP Gregori Mayans will be temporarily relocated to prefabricated classrooms.
The funding modification also includes actions at centers in other locations. CEIP Magraner in Tavernes de la Valldigna will receive an additional 1,384,742.06 euros, bringing its total to 4,164,500.64 euros. In La Vall d’Uixó, 427,091.31 euros will be added for the construction of a changing room and gymnasium at CEIP L’Assumpció, with a global budget of 2,102,290.64 euros. Lastly, IES Álvaro Falomir in Almassora will receive an extra 350,849.97 euros for structural and climate control improvements, setting the project's total at 16,066,980.68 euros.
