The Silla City Council has launched a planting campaign for 61 trees of various species in different parts of the municipality to expand shade areas and improve public spaces.

The aim of this initiative is to move towards a greener and more pleasant city by increasing urban tree cover and creating more comfortable spaces for citizens, especially in view of high temperatures.
The new plantings are distributed across various areas of the town. Tipuana trees are being planted in the Bega area, pines in Morella square, plane trees on Alicante avenue, and mulberry trees at the summer swimming pool.
One of the notable interventions is the planting of mulberry trees at the summer swimming pool, with the aim of expanding the shade areas of this municipal facility. This is intended to improve user comfort and make stays at the facilities more pleasant, contributing to a cooler and more welcoming environment during the bathing season.
Previously, a thorough study was conducted of the town's tree-lined streets to identify empty tree pits, determine the feasibility of planting new trees, and plan for the replacement of existing trees according to the needs of each space.
The planting tasks are being carried out during a period favorable for the rooting of the new specimens. The work is adapted to the characteristics of each tree pit, including site preparation, stump removal, or repair of irrigation and ventilation systems.
