Mislata commemorates October 9th with an institutional ceremony for the presentation of Honorary Distinctions, a nighttime mascletà, and an exhibition on traditional costumes and Fallas.

The October 9th celebrations in Mislata will include an institutional event with the transfer of the Senyera (Valencian flag) and the presentation of Honorary Distinctions, recognizing the most significant actions of collectives or citizens of the town. The event will take place in the Plaza de la Constitución, in front of the City Council.
Mayor Carlos F. Bielsa highlighted the importance of the date to remember origins, claim Valencian identity, and look to the future with pride. He emphasized that Mislata celebrates its culture, language, traditions, and values of coexistence, diversity, and social justice.
Following the speech, distinctions will be awarded to various entities and individuals: the Centro Instructivo Musical de Mislata (CIM) for its 120 years; the Academia de Baile Stylos for its 30th anniversary; physicist and professor Pablo Jarillo-Herrero for his contribution to global science; the Coordinadora Vecinal de Mislata for defending public spaces and citizen participation; and the Teaching Staff and AMPAs of Public Education in Mislata for their educational work.
After the institutional ceremony, the traditional civic procession of the Senyera will take place, parading through the main streets to the gardens of Casa Sendra, where the Fallas commissions will hold a tribute ceremony.
The day will conclude around 2:00 PM with a mascletà in the Plaza Mayor, by Pirotecnia Turís.
Complementing the program, on the afternoon of October 7th, the Centro Sociocultural La Fàbrica will host the inauguration of the exhibition “Trames d’identitat: la roba tradicional i les Falles a Mislata” (Threads of Identity: Traditional Clothing and Fallas in Mislata), curated by Xavier Rausell and Aureli Domènech. The inauguration will feature a regional dance performance.
On the night of October 8th, at 11:59 PM in the Plaza Mayor, the Federation of Traditional Pyrotechnics will organize a manual and vertical nighttime mascletà, involving 110 shooters and Pirotecnia del Mediterráneo, reaching a height of 40 meters.
