The proposal plans to request an increase of 6.3 million euros from the Department of Education, raising the total budget for the project to over 13.3 million euros. This modification responds to the need to update market prices and incorporate technical improvements, especially following the flooding episodes experienced in the l'Horta Sud region.
The design of the new center, which will replace the current one, includes protection measures such as raising the ground floor, creating safe evacuation spaces, and a water lamination system. The goal is to guarantee modern, sustainable, and resilient facilities against extreme weather events.
At the same time, the council is working on preparing the land that will house the temporary prefabricated classrooms. These facilities will be located in the old l'Escoleta courtyard and the adjacent parking lot, near the Health Center and the EPA Enric Valor, to ensure the continuity of teaching activities during the construction period.
