The works, which have had an investment of 2.55 million euros by the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, have allowed the structure to be rebuilt and adapted to guarantee greater resilience against adverse weather phenomena. This action is part of the agreement signed on March 5, 2025, between the City Council and the central Government.
The new footbridge, 58.80 meters long, incorporates a 5-meter-wide bike lane to promote sustainable mobility. In addition, the foundation has been reinforced with reinforced concrete piles and railings designed to release the load in the event of possible water floods have been installed, thus improving citizen safety.
The work has also included the urbanization of the connection areas with the urban road network and the installation of LED lighting under the handrail to optimize visibility. This intervention is part of a broader reconstruction plan that includes other strategic points such as the Pont Nou, the Pont Vell, and the CV-406 road bridge.
