This intervention, with a budget of 20,500.47 euros, consists of creating two artificial structures using stone-filled metal gabions. These bases will support the planting of vegetation adapted to humid environments, which will help in the natural purification of the water and provide shelter for local wildlife.
The project involves using over 57 cubic meters of topsoil and planting 300 aquatic flora specimens, including 200 yellow irises and 100 Veronica beccabunga plants. These species are essential for increasing the ecological value of the site, which suffered significant damage due to the Dana on October 29, 2024.
In the months following the flood, the lake served as a refuge for a duck colony, whose survival was made possible thanks to the involvement of volunteers and local residents. The council highlighted the work of the municipal Parks and Gardens staff, who are working intensely to restore this iconic space for the community.
