This action, which has a maximum budget of 3,185,559.02 euros, aims primarily to reinforce urban drainage. The goal is to optimize the rainwater collection network and reduce the risk of accumulation during heavy rainfall, connecting the network with existing irrigation ditches where technically feasible.
The intervention will cover an area of 12,765 square meters and will include streets such as Juan Bautista Company, Doctor Fleming, Furs, Jaume I El Conquistador, Muelle de la Estación, Murta, Nou d’Octubre, Pintor Ribera, and Pintor Sorolla, as well as Plaça del Rajolar and Plaça 9 d’Octubre.
In addition to repairing the damage caused by the water, which reached a height of 1.5 meters, the project includes the renovation of roads, sidewalks, and improvements to pedestrian accessibility. It will also involve replacing drinking water pipes and restoring public lighting, which currently relies on temporary solutions.
Funding for this work comes from the Government of Spain, through the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory, as part of the municipal reconstruction plan.
