Personalized nutrition for cancer patients and the development of new materials with biomedical and environmental applications were distinguished at Tech X Impact, an event held on October 28th at the Parc Tecnològic de Paterna. Two initiatives linked to the University of Valencia Science Park (PCUV), IBIONS and Capsentra, received awards for their innovative proposals.
The two projects are among the three initiatives recognized by a jury composed of representatives from the business and innovation ecosystem. The third award went to Mycrospace, a company developing artificial vision technologies to automate processes in microbiology laboratories.
The eighth edition of TECNOFORUM, organized by the EGM Parc Tecnològic Paterna and co-financed by the Paterna City Council, brought together companies, research centers, technological institutes, universities, and innovation support entities. The event focused on biotechnology and microelectronics, under an open innovation approach.
The participation of the UV Science Park extended beyond the awarded projects. Evolving Therapeutics participated in a panel on business collaboration, while the Institute of Corpuscular Physics (IFIC, CSIC-UV) was present in the exhibition area.
IBIONS, located at the UV Science Park, was recognized for its personalized medical-nutritional services for cancer patients, aimed at improving quality of life and supporting oncological treatments. The company integrates therapeutic nutrition with digital tools to adapt interventions to individual needs.
Meanwhile, Capsentra, linked to the Institute of Molecular Science (ICMol) of the UV, researches and develops new organic and inorganic hybrid materials with biomedical and environmental applications. The project explores combining components to achieve new properties.
Alongside IBIONS and Capsentra, Mycrospace was recognized for its artificial vision platform to automate tasks in microbiology laboratories, such as counting bacteria and fungi in food samples.
The event also included discussions on business collaboration and open innovation, with the participation of Marisa Domingo Calap from Evolving Therapeutics. The importance of finding collaborative entities with complementary capabilities and adopting a long-term research perspective was highlighted.
The IFIC participated in the exhibition area of TECNOFORUM, facilitating contact between researchers, companies, and innovation agents. The presence of the UV Science Park reflects its diverse capabilities in biotechnology, materials, and frontier technologies.
