The resolution, dated September 17, 2026, establishes that students in the municipality will not have classes on December 7, 2026, nor on March 16, 17, and 18, 2027. These dates have been authorized as school holidays.
Additionally, March 16 has been designated as a non-teaching day. To compensate for this suspension of classes, December 22, 2026, will be declared a teaching day. This measure will allow educational centers in the municipality to remain closed for four consecutive days during the Fallas week, from Tuesday, March 16, to Thursday, March 18, in addition to the official holiday of San José on Friday, March 19.
With this modification, the school calendar for Tavernes Blanques is completed and aligned with the Fallas festivities. The Christmas holidays will begin one day later for students, as December 22 will be a teaching day to compensate for the non-teaching day on March 16.
The delegate councilor for Education, Yolanda Sánchez, expressed her satisfaction with the resolution, highlighting that it facilitates family planning and finalizes the school calendar for the academic year.
