Paterna has launched its 2026 major festivals, marked by gunpowder, tradition, and the motto ‘Foc, Festa i Fe’ (Fire, Festival, and Faith), with a program set to unfold over the coming days.

The celebrations officially began with a general ringing of bells, announcing the start of days where gunpowder will be a central element. Subsequently, the Pueblo Square hosted the traditional Manual Mascletà, organized by the Interpenyes Federation, which drew numerous attendees.
The day was also dedicated to the commemoration of the Centenary of the Coronation of the Santísimo Cristo de la Fe. The mayor of Paterna, Juan Antonio Sagredo, along with council members, the Queen of the Festivals, Elena Pla, her Court of Honor, and representatives of festival associations, participated in the unveiling of a commemorative plaque in Ingeniero Castells Square.
At the Parish of San Pedro Apóstol, the blessing and imposition of medals from the Royal Brotherhood of the Santísimo Cristo de la Fe took place for the Queen of the Festivals and Alejandro Llabata, author of the centenary's commemorative book.
Since Wednesday, the cohetódromo esplanade has been hosting a new exhibition showcasing festival heritage and the event schedule, aiming to introduce Paterna's history and traditions to residents and visitors.
One of the key moments of the day was the Proclamation of the Major Festivals, held on Thursday, August 20th, at 9:30 PM in the Town Hall Square, delivered by Leticia Sabater. Following the performance of the anthems, the Moorish and Christian flags were raised.
The night continued at the cohetódromo esplanade with the Interpenyes Night Manual Mascletà at 1:00 AM, followed by the Interpenyes Cordà, extending the festive activity into the early morning hours.
On Friday, August 21st, the program included children's activities in Lloma Llarga at 7:30 PM. At the same time, a parade from the Town Hall led to the LXII edition of the Floral Games at the Municipal Auditorium at 8:00 PM.
The Night of Paellas began at 8:00 PM in the Los Naranjos parking lot, accompanied by a charanga band and DJ. The day concluded at 10:30 PM in the Cova Gran with a concert by the Unión Musical Santa Cecilia as part of the ‘Fet a Paterna’ series.
The major festivals will continue in the coming days with a diverse cultural, religious, festive, and pyrotechnic offering that will once again fill the streets and public spaces of Paterna.
