The Valencia Provincial Council hosted representatives from provincial councils, island councils, and insular councils from across Spain at the MuVIM to debate and exchange experiences on the new challenges in tourism management. The event, held for World Tourism Day, served as a platform to share experiences, best practices, and functional solutions.
The forum focused on three key areas: inter-provincial tourism governance, smart tourism and digitalization, and the relevance of gastronomy and local products.

Tourism does not understand administrative borders, which is why we must be capable of working as a territory, sharing knowledge, experiences, and tools, learning from what others are doing and generously sharing what we have implemented."
The president of the Valencia Provincial Council, Vicent Mompó, emphasized the importance of tourism de-seasonality, arguing that there are twelve months to offer experiences and that they must be built to ensure opportunities throughout the year.
For his part, the Tourism Deputy, Pedro Cuesta, highlighted the need for cooperation and coordination between territories, emphasizing the essential role of provincial governments as administrations close to municipalities, especially the smaller ones.

The first debate panel, 'Inter-provincial tourism governance', included representatives from the Barcelona Provincial Council, the Cabildo of Lanzarote, and the Consell Insular of Ibiza, who agreed on the need to articulate responsibilities, sustainability, and information for better decision-making.
The second panel addressed smart tourism and digitalization, with experts from the provincial councils of Valencia and Alicante, and the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, who emphasized technology as a tool for more effective public management.
Finally, the third panel discussed the current relevance of gastronomy and local products for attracting tourism, with the participation of provincial deputies from Toledo, Teruel, and Alicante, aiming to transform this richness into tourism experiences and economic activity.
The celebration of World Tourism Day in the province of Valencia is complemented by activities in over 30 municipalities and associations.
