The Valencia General Hospital celebrates the achievement of Jorge Zamora Ortiz, a nurse in the Dermatology department, who has obtained the Certificate of Expert in Wounds from the National Group for the Study and Advice on Pressure Ulcers and Chronic Wounds (GNEAUPP), reaching level 3 excellence.

This recognition, which values training, professional experience, and scientific and care activity, provides a boost to the hospital's Ulcer unit, which has evolved in the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of these cases.
Zamora highlighted that the accreditation demonstrates the existence of an organized and specialized unit, working with quality criteria and scientific evidence, and committed to continuous improvement in the comprehensive management of complex wounds.
The Ulcer unit, established in 2002, has incorporated advances such as negative pressure therapy, new debridement techniques, personalized compression for venous ulcers, and a multidisciplinary approach to diabetic foot. Advanced technologies and treatments for microbial control, extracellular matrix therapies, dermal substitutes, and growth factors, among others, have also been implemented.
The unit treats various injuries including pressure ulcers, vascular ulcers, diabetic foot, chronic wounds, surgical dehiscences, and peristomal lesions, in addition to preventing skin injuries and treating patients with psoriasis and blistering diseases, performing minor surgery.
