The city of Torrent has experienced today the traditional Christian Reconquest, a central act of the patron saint festivities where Christian groups have symbolically recovered the local tower.

After the second trabucà of the day, the Christian groups took control of the town's most iconic monument. This event, organized by the Federation of Moors and Christians, has once again filled the Plaza Mayor and the surroundings of Montesion with residents and visitors.
This year's edition includes a special novelty to mark the 750th anniversary of the death of King Jaume I. The city council wanted to pay tribute to this historical figure by integrating him into the festive program to strengthen the link between tradition and the history of the Kingdom of Valencia.
The celebration of the Reconquest marks the path towards the main days of the festivities. Next Wednesday, the historic center will host the Grand Moorish and Christian Parade, a spectacle that brings together thousands of people from across the Horta region and the province.
