From July 16th to August 2nd, Valencia's Teatro Olympia presents the family musical 'Tarzan', a production by Theatre Properties and Atresmedia, retelling the well-known story of the boy raised by gorillas.

The story of the Earl of Greystoke, John Clayton III, son of murdered British aristocrats and adopted by a gorilla troop, arrives in Valencia in a new theatrical adaptation. The musical, directed by Silvia Villaú with music by José Enrique de la Vega, explores the conflict between the wild and civilization when researchers threaten Tarzan's family and environment.
This adaptation, while maintaining similarities to the original story and including figures like the gorillas Kala and Chita, introduces novelties such as the character of Isabella, a shaman who narrates the story and cares for Jane. Actors Giampalo Picucci (Tarzan) and Mireia Coma (Jane) describe the show as "an experience for all ages" that aims to connect with adults' "inner child."
The performance emphasizes the personal discovery of Tarzan and Jane, who breaks free from rigid social conventions. The staging is notable for its detailed set design recreating the jungle, costumes faithful to gorillas, and an original soundtrack. The play conveys a message about respecting and loving nature.
The performances in Valencia mark the end of the show's Spanish tour, which has visited over 40 cities. Featuring a cast of 16 artists, including children, the musical runs for approximately 2 hours with an intermission. Producer Theatre Properties, known for adaptations like 'Peter Pan' and 'Aladdin', has announced that Picucci and Coma will be part of their next production, 'Annie'.
