The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has announced a comprehensive renewal of the commuter train fleet in Valencia, which will increase the capacity of lines C-1, C-2, and C-6 by 30 percent.

The public operator Renfe will replace the trains currently in operation with 41 units of the Civia 465 series model. These new compositions will progressively replace the 34 trains of the 447 series and the seven of the 464 series currently providing service.
The Civia S465 vehicles stand out for their higher capacity, as each unit has five cars compared to the three of the previous models. According to the Ministry, the goal is to improve reliability, comfort, and accessibility for passengers.
The incorporation schedule expects that by the end of this year, the Valencia commuter network will already have 22 new vehicles. The rest of the fleet will be gradually integrated throughout 2027.
This modernization will directly affect the Valencia-Gandia, Valencia-Xàtiva-Moixent, and Valencia-Castelló lines. In addition to the increase in daily seats, the replacement of the trains will reduce the average age of the fleet, facilitating access for people with reduced mobility thanks to their low-floor cars.
