The municipal pool of Natzaret, in València, has been closed by the Department of Health due to a bird infestation that has compromised water safety.

The facility, which opened on June 21, had to suspend its service just fifteen days into the season. According to the Natzaret Neighborhood Association, the constant presence of pigeons, seagulls, and turtle doves has turned the area into a habitat for these species, leading to continuous water contamination.
Users have criticized the lack of official information regarding the closure and the steps planned for reopening. In addition to the main pool, the closure also affects a smaller pool, preventing many residents from practicing sports or enjoying this public service during the summer.
The neighborhood group has used the situation to denounce that the improvements made last year were insufficient. Among the shortcomings noted are slippery flooring, ineffective shading areas, and the lack of a proper ladder to facilitate access for people with reduced mobility.
Given this situation, residents are calling on the Valencia City Council for a comprehensive intervention that includes urgent treatment against invasive birds and a serious plan to build decent and healthy facilities in the long term.
