The 11th edition of Gastrónoma, the Mediterranean gastronomic fair, scheduled from Monday, October 26 to Wednesday, October 28, will transform its stages into spaces for conversation about contemporary gastronomy. Under the theme The Voices of the Sector, the event pays tribute to gastronomic communicators and their fundamental role in narrating and analyzing the profession's evolution.
Articles, editorials, and covers from leading gastronomic media outlets will be featured to discuss current professional topics. "These voices share a common mission with Gastrónoma: to bring gastronomic culture to the public and highlight everything that lies behind it," states Carlos Mataix, president of the event.
Media outlets such as Food&Wine and GastroPlanet, represented by Alexandra Sumasi and Alberto Granados respectively, will participate. Also attending will be gastronomic journalists including Jorge Guitián, María Ritter, José Carlos Capel, Eva Rodríguez, Fernando Huidobro, and Pedro G. Moncholi, alongside specialists from El País, among others.
Topics such as fish, game, emerging talents, gastronomic guides, and other current affairs will be central. "This is what the sector is asking for: to talk about the real current issues, what truly matters to professionals, and to have it told by those who are inside and know the day-to-day of gastronomy," notes Maje Martínez, Gastrónoma's Content Director.
The program will extend across various spaces, including the Conselleria d’Agricultura Stage (producers), #pandeverdad (bakery), Be Sweet (pastry), Wine Experience (wines), El Aula (training, contests, showcookings), Espai Mediterrani (gastronomic contests), Cooking (courses and workshops), Entreolivos (extra virgin olive oil), Gourmet Bars, the Cheese Tunnel, Plaça de l’Artesania, and the Coffee Hub.
Additionally, GastroDesign will hold its fourth edition, this year focusing on horchata as a starting point. The fair will also feature an exhibition area for commercial exchange. "We want this edition to have a program even more geared towards professionals, training, and communication, but above all, to be of genuine interest and utility to those working in the sector," points out Alejandro Roda, Director of Gastrónoma.
Gastrónoma is supported by Turisme Comunitat Valenciana, the Conselleria d’Agricultura, Ganadería y Pesca, the provincial councils of Alicante, Castellón, and Valencia, and Visit València. CaixaBank is the official bank. The event is organized by Feria Valencia with the support of major sector associations and chefs from the Valencian Community.
