The speed control devices of the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) closed 2025 with a record revenue of almost 250 million euros in fines across Spain, a 14% increase from the previous year, according to data from the organization Automovilistas Europeos Asociados (AEA). This rise is mainly due to the precision of new radars placed in strategic locations, which now account for 41.5% of total revenue from speed sanctions.
Out of over 1,000 radars deployed nationwide, a select group of 50 accounted for 1,342,285 fines. The province of Valencia stands out, with a radar located at kilometer 326 of the A-7, near La Cañada, identified as the most active in Spain with 90,766 fines in 2025. This device generated 18.9 million euros in fines.
The Valencian Community appears a total of 13 times in the top 50 most fining radars. In terms of total fine revenue, the province of Valencia collected 39,781,446 euros in 2025, with nearly 19 million from speed infractions.
Ranking second nationally is a radar in Alicante, situated at kilometer 7 of the CV-905, with 72,557 fines.
