The Mayor of Villena, Fulgencio Cerdán, has signed collaboration and financial contribution agreements with the entities of the Junta de la Virgen and the Junta Central de Fiestas de Moros y Cristianos. These agreements, signed today, establish joint actions and activities for this year, as well as the acceptance of municipal contributions to cover operating and activity development expenses.
The mayor highlighted the importance of these two entities, considering them "central to the life of our city" and "an essential, basic, and indispensable part" for the celebration of the Fiestas de Moros y Cristianos and other annual events.
In the presence of the Councillor for Festivals, José Ferri, the agreement was signed with the president of the Junta Central de Fiestas, Rosa María Pardo, for the development of the September festivals, accompanied by a municipal contribution of 70,000 euros. Similarly, an agreement was signed with the president of the Junta de la Virgen, Dori Flor, which includes joint collaboration and a contribution of 27,000 euros.
Cerdán emphasized Villena's strong social fabric, its capacity to generate united entities, and the altruistic work of its members for the city.
The Councillor for Festivals, José Ferri, expressed his satisfaction in having allies like the Junta Central de Fiestas and the Junta de la Virgen, defining them as "a driving force" for the smooth and coordinated functioning of the city's activities and events.
