The exhibition, which can be visited until September 27, focuses on the work of Pedro Marco (1949-2022) as a costume designer for Villena's Moors and Christians Festival. The exhibition brings together a pictorial and graphic collection highlighting the costumes designed for the festival's women in the late eighties, as well as posters and covers of festival publications.
Curated by María Gazabat Barbado and José Ayelo, the collection emphasizes Marco's prolific career, who annually designed tunics and turbans for his «Tuaregs» squad for over fifty years, transforming the design in local festivals.
In addition to the work dedicated to the Festival, the exhibition also showcases his vast graphic work, including posters and covers of magazines and books related to the festival theme.
To delve deeper into the figure of Pedro Marco and his contribution to festival design, a guided tour has been organized for September 1 at 7:00 PM, with the participation of the exhibition's curators.
The exhibition will be open to the public daily until September 27, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, except on August 29 and 30. It will also be closed between September 4 and 10 due to the patron saint festivities.
