The awards value the participation of secondary and vocational training centers in community composting, based on criteria such as the center's involvement, the integration of the process into the curriculum, and the production of compost.
In the Motor of Change category, the award went to the IES Pare Vitòria in Alcoy, recognizing the teaching and student team for their capacity for organization, coordination, and mobilization, as well as the creation of waste committees and consistency in compost bin management.
The CIPFP Canastell in Sant Vicent del Raspeig received the Green Classroom award for transforming the compost bin into a laboratory and organically integrating composting into the teaching-learning process.
The IES La Foia won the Master Composters category, awarded for rigorous process monitoring, including humidity and temperature control, and for obtaining mature compost.
Additionally, the Terra Consortium highlighted the role of municipalities that have promoted composting in primary schools. The Ayuntamiento de Cocentaina was recognized for installing compost bins at CEIP El Bosco, Colegio San Francisco de Asís, and CEIP Real Blanc. The Ayuntamiento de Ibi received recognition for its actions at CEIP Poeta Pla i Beltrán and CEIP Madre Felicidad Bernabeu.
The event was attended by teachers, students, management teams, municipal authorities, and technicians, including the mayor of Ibi, Sergio Carrasco, and the mayor of Muro de Alcoy, Vicent Molina.
Through these awards, the Terra Consortium reinforces its commitment to environmental education and organic waste management, aiming to establish composting as a practical educational tool for a more sustainable future.
