This year, the contest will take place in autumn, unlike previous editions held in spring. Another significant novelty is the change in the participation system: photographs must be submitted via entry registration, with a preference for the City Council's electronic headquarters. The deadline for submitting works will be open from October 1st until 11:59 PM on October 15th, 2026. The mayor of Serra, Alicia Tusón, has highlighted the importance of continuing this contest, now in its eleventh edition. "The Pascual Navarro Photography Contest is an opportunity to see Serra with fresh eyes and discover, through images, everything that makes our municipality special," Tusón stated. She added that "each edition allows us to highlight our landscapes, our natural and cultural heritage, and, above all, the perspective of the people who live in and enjoy Serra."
The competition is open to any individual, and each participant may submit a single photograph. This photograph must have been taken during 2026 within the municipal boundaries of Serra and be related to the environmental and cultural values of the municipality and the Serra Calderona natural park.
Once the submission period ends, all received photographs will be published in an album on the official Facebook profile of the Serra City Council. Public voting will commence on October 21st and continue until November 3rd. The photograph with the most "likes" will be the winner, while the second most voted will be considered a finalist. The names of the winners will be announced on November 4th via the municipal website.
The contest offers a first prize of 100 euros in the form of a gift voucher, accompanied by a diploma. The finalist photograph will receive a 50 euro prize and a diploma. The gift vouchers must be spent at local shops and restaurants. Through this initiative, the Serra City Council aims to foster citizen participation and showcase the municipality's heritage, while also honoring the memory of Pascual Navarro, a Serra resident and renowned photographer.
