The first edition of this initiative invites participants to transform landscapes, heritage, gastronomy, traditions, customs, and ways of life of the region into original, unpublished videos of a maximum of 20 seconds in vertical format. The goal is to gather different and personal perspectives that highlight the diversity and uniqueness of Vega Baja del Segura.
It aims to leverage short audiovisual language and social media formats to generate original content about the territory, increase its visibility in digital environments, and promote citizen participation in building a shared narrative of the region.
The works will be judged by a Technical Jury composed of representatives from CONVEGA, the Orihuela School of Art and Design (EASDO), and the Provincial Tourism Board Costa Blanca. Aspects to be considered include originality, narrative creativity, synthesis ability, emotional connection, identification with Vega Baja, alignment with the Territory Brand values, and audiovisual technical quality.
The two best proposals will receive in-kind prizes: the top-rated submission will receive a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K (or equivalent equipment), and the second prize will be a DJI Osmo Action Adventure Combo (or equivalent). Interested individuals can submit their videos and required documentation until October 19th, through CONVEGA's Electronic Registry, where the complete contest rules can also be consulted.
The president of CONVEGA, Carlos Pastor, stated that “with this initiative, we want to issue a challenge: to discover the essence of Vega Baja through the eyes of its population and visitors”. He added that “the sum of all these perspectives will allow us to generate original audiovisual content, increase the region's visibility, showcase its diversity, and reinforce the sense of belonging”.
This audiovisual call coincides with the VII edition of the School Contest ‘Discover your region, Vega Baja del Segura’, aimed at 2nd-year ESO students. Students must create an individual artistic work based on the cartographic map of the region. Ten prizes will be awarded, including laptops, iPads, and graphic tablets. The deadline for submitting works is October 30th.
Both initiatives are part of the actions of the Territory Brand ‘Vega Baja del Segura _your land and mine_’, developed within the framework of the Tourism Dynamization and Governance Plan of Vega Baja del Segura, funded by the Provincial Council of Alicante.
