Three former students from the EASD Alcoy, trained in Graphic Design with a specialization in Animation, have brought «Jordi el Xicotet» to life. Carla Reig, Alba Fortuño, and Manú Rojas, based on an idea by Vega Piñero, have created this children's animation project, which is part of the context of the 750th anniversary of Saint George's patronage.
The series offers an innovative approach to the figure of the saint, portraying Jordi as a small, playful, and curious boy. The project stems from the desire to develop an original production from Alcoy, exploring the possibilities of the animation sector for young creators trained in the city.
«Jordi el Xicotet» addresses themes such as friendship, responsibility, fear, and freedom in an accessible way for children in 1st and 2nd grade of Primary School, aiming to spark their imagination and curiosity. For the EASD Alcoy, the project serves as an example of the professional path its students can embark on.
The three creators, who were classmates during their studies at the School, have decided to continue working together, applying the knowledge they acquired and undertaking the complete creation process of an animation production. The series, with its visual language and dialogue-free format, has a clear outward projection.
The official presentation of «Jordi el Xicotet» will take place during the upcoming edition of ANIMALCOI, to be held in November in Alcoy. The event will serve to showcase the project, explain the creation process, and highlight its development potential.
